Our take: It ranks second because its review base is the biggest on the page but its rating is the lowest, with a handful of one-star reviews next to many five-star ones. Read the recent reviews and ask about delivery windows if you're moving long distance.

Our take: A strong pick when the job includes a piano or other heavy, awkward items. Its review base is smaller than the two names above it, which is why it sits third despite a 4.8.

How the scores work

Every number on this page comes from public Google data on the date shown, not from opinion or payment. Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the company, compared with other movers we found. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.8 from hundreds of people counts for more than a 5.0 from a handful. Recency reflects how recently customers are still leaving reviews. No business can pay to change these numbers.

What moves cost in Palm Desert, and what changes the price

None of the movers here publish prices in the data we reviewed, so we’re not quoting a rate table. Price usually moves with the size of the home, the number of movers and trucks, stairs and long carries, packing, piano or other specialty items, storage time, and how far you’re going. Ask for a written estimate that lists the crew size, hourly or flat rate, and any extra fees before you book.

Movers around the Coachella Valley

Palm Desert sits between Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells and La Quinta, with Cathedral City, Palm Springs and Indio a short drive away. Reviews on this page include a move from Cathedral City to Indio, and Golden Sun’s site lists Palm Springs ZIP codes. On Time’s site describes its work across the Coachella Valley. Looking for movers near me? Each card shows a phone number and directions.

Questions to ask before you book a mover

  • Is the quote flat-rate or hourly, and is there a minimum number of hours?
  • Where is the crew based, and is there a travel charge to reach my Palm Desert address?
  • Can you move a piano, and what equipment do you bring for stairs or tight doorways?
  • Do you offer storage, and is it climate controlled?
  • How do you handle damage claims, and what coverage is included?
  • Can you move on a Sunday or at short notice?
