What the numbers show

Ratings and review counts come from Google on the date shown, unchanged by us. Volume places each firm’s count against the rest of the page, confidence discounts ratings backed by few reviews, and recency tracks how recently people are still writing.

Planning a renovation budget in Atlanta (2026)

No firm on this page publishes prices and the reviews rarely quote them, so there is no table here. For multi-room renovations the swing factors are structural work, permits, architect or engineer drawings and long-lead materials. One intown homeowner’s custom windows arrived late because she insisted on a specific manufacturer, and she called them worth it. Ask each firm how scope changes get priced.

Neighborhoods and suburbs covered

Innovative Design + Build names Alpharetta, Decatur, Marietta, Roswell, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Buckhead and Dunwoody on its site, 1st Choice says it works from Brookhaven to Roswell, and Intown Craftsmen restricts itself to homes inside the perimeter. Ambiance Atlanta’s owner reply names Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Roswell and Alpharetta. For renovation contractors near you, confirm your ZIP code on the first call.

Before you commit to a big renovation

Do you handle design, drawings and permits, or do I hire an architect first?
Which trades are your own employees and which are subcontractors?
How do change orders get priced and approved in writing?
Can I stay in the house during the work, and what is the plan for dust and water shutoffs?
What follow-up do you offer after the project is finished?
