We compared 16 basement renovation contractors in Atlanta on Google Maps · 4 listed · How we rank

Most basements start as the biggest unfinished room in the house, and turning one into living space means a long list of trades working in a tight, low-ceilinged box. The basement renovation contractors in Atlanta below hold more than 540 Google reviews between them, rated 4.6 to 4.8, and only one carries the word basement in its name, so how much of each firm's work is actually below grade matters.

Short answer: Affordable Remodeling and Ambiance Atlanta are both rated 4.8, and Green Basements & Remodeling has the most reviews, more than 210 at 4.6. Affordable Remodeling has more than 190 reviews. Cornerstone Remodeling Atlanta is rated 4.7. Ask each for finished basements to see, since reviewers describe basement work more clearly for some than others.

  • A terrace-level customer describes status and timeline updates from Mike and Elmer

Our take: A reasonable shortlist name for a basement that is more about a new use, like a gym or lounge, than a full structural refit.

Cornerstone Remodeling Atlanta

4.748 Google reviews

Cornerstone Remodeling Atlanta is a Marietta remodeler whose site has separate pages for basement, kitchen and bathroom remodels and describes finishing basements as an answer to a space that becomes a dumping ground. Reviewers describe opening a basement to a patio with French doors and adding a patio cover, and finishing out a basement together with a master bathroom.

What people praise

  • One customer had the basement opened to the patio with French doors and says it is holding up well
  • Another customer says a basement finish and a master bath came in under budget and within the timeframe
  • Reviewers call it flexible about minor changes and easy to reach with questions

Worth knowing

  • A reviewer who asked about finishing a basement was unhappy with the callback time and a phone-only quote, so ask for an in-home estimate

Our take: Worth a look when the basement meets the yard, as in a walkout or patio-door conversion. It has the smallest review base on this page.

How the scorecards work

The rating and review count on each card are Google’s, read on the date shown. Volume sets a firm’s count against the others here, confidence weighs rating against count, and recency shows how lately people have been posting. These numbers are not editable by us or by the firms.

What shapes a basement renovation budget in Atlanta (2026)

The reviews and sites on this page give no basement price list, so we are leaving the cost table out rather than guessing. The jobs reviewers describe point to what moves a total: whether a bathroom or wet bar is added, new windows or doors cut into the walls, and how much electrical and cabinetry goes in. Ask each firm to price those items separately so quotes can be compared.

Atlanta and the north-side suburbs

Green Basements & Remodeling and Cornerstone Remodeling Atlanta both have Marietta addresses, Affordable Remodeling sits on West Paces Ferry Road NW in Atlanta, and Ambiance Atlanta works the area without a storefront, with its owner reply naming Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Roswell and Alpharetta. For basement finishing near you, ask each office whether your neighborhood is inside its range.

Questions for a basement contractor

  • Can I see a finished basement you built, and speak with that homeowner?
  • Are the crews your employees or subcontractors?
  • Who handles plumbing, electrical and any new windows or exterior doors?
  • How do you deal with surprises found once the walls are opened?
  • Is the estimate done in my home before you quote a price?
