How to read the numbers

Every number on this page comes from public Google data on the date shown. Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business, compared with other renovation contractors in Fort Lauderdale. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.9 from hundreds of people counts for more than a 5.0 from a few. Recency reflects how recently customers still leave reviews. No business can pay to change these numbers.

What drives renovation costs in Fort Lauderdale

These firms do not publish price lists, and most reviewers describe the result rather than the total, so there is no honest dollar table to print. Renovation prices depend on the number of rooms, whether walls or plumbing move, structural work, permits, finish level and how much is custom-built. Ask each contractor for a written scope with line items, and ask how change orders are priced.

Where these renovation firms work

Each of these contractors lists Fort Lauderdale street addresses. Palladium’s site says it serves Fort Lauderdale and surrounding communities including Pompano Beach, Hollywood, Plantation and Davie. Searching for a renovation contractor near me? Each listing here has a live phone number to confirm coverage for your street.

Questions to ask a renovation contractor

  • Who is my single point of contact, and how often will I get updates?
  • Which trades are your own crew and which are subcontracted?
  • How are permits, inspections and change orders handled and priced?
  • How will you protect belongings if we stay in the house?
  • What is the payment schedule, and what is tied to each milestone?

Frequently asked questions

Do Fort Lauderdale renovation contractors handle structural changes?

Two of them have reviewers who describe it. A Palladium Construction homeowner had walls knocked down and major structural changes made, and a GLK homeowner had a structural wall removed and patio doors added, with every inspection passing on the first try. Magic City Remodeling’s reviews are mostly about kitchens and bathrooms.

Can a renovation be managed from out of town?

One GLK Construction reviewer had a renovation done from 1,200 miles away and said the foreman sent progress pictures every day and answered questions promptly. If you plan the same, ask any contractor how updates, approvals and payments will work remotely.

Is it one contractor or many trades on a Fort Lauderdale renovation?

Reviews describe one company coordinating many trades. A Magic City Remodeling reviewer named a salesperson, project manager, stone installers, a cabinet carpenter and electricians on one kitchen. A Palladium reviewer described an interior designer the firm recommended working alongside its team.

Where to start

Magic City is the safe default for a kitchen-and-bath renovation, Palladium suits a whole-home project with structural work, and GLK suits a design-build remodel with an architect. Whichever you pick, get the scope, the payment schedule and the start date in writing.
