Reading the scorecards

Every number on this page comes from public Google data on the date shown. Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business, compared with the other roofers we looked at. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.8 from dozens of people carries more weight than a 5.0 from a handful. Recency shows how recently customers are still leaving reviews. No business can pay to change these numbers.

What drives roofing costs in Hayward

We don’t publish a price table here, because none of these roofers post fixed rates and reviewers’ totals depend on the size and type of roof. Roofing prices swing with the roof’s size and pitch, the material (asphalt shingle, tile or membrane), tear-off and disposal, permits, and extras such as skylights, solar removal or gutters. Get at least two written bids that spell out materials, scope and warranty.

  • Does the bid state the materials, tear-off, disposal and permits?
