This policy explains what information Best In Hood collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it.

What we collect
When you order a listing
Our order form asks for:
- business name, address, city and category
- business phone, business email and website
- the package you choose
- your name and email address (the contact person)
- any comments you add
- for a new page order, the city and service you want the page for
When you ask us to update a listing
Our update form asks for the page address, your business details (name, address, city, category, phone, email, website), your name and email, and the changes you want.
When you email us
We keep your emails and anything attached to them, such as logos, photos or documents you send for your listing.
When you pay
- By card: your card is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us the payment amount, the payment status and basic details such as your name and email.
- By PayPal: PayPal sends us a payment notice with the amount, the fee, the transaction ID, and the payer's name and email.
When you visit the site
- Analytics: on www.bestinhood.com we use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (country or city). It uses cookies to do this.
- Spam protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them. To run this check, Cloudflare receives your IP address and some technical details about your browser.
- Server logs: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and protect the site.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- publish and update your listing
- take and record payments
- send you emails about your order, such as confirmations, your live page address and renewal notices
- reply to your messages
- keep business and accounting records
- understand how people use the site so we can improve it
- block spam, fraud and abuse
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run Best In Hood, and only as much as they need to do their job:
- Cloudflare: hosts the site, runs the forms and the Turnstile check, and stores our order records, emails and attachments
- Resend: sends our emails
- Our email hosting provider: holds our mailboxes
- Stripe: processes card payments
- PayPal: processes PayPal payments
- Google: provides Tag Manager and Analytics
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Some of these providers store data outside your country, including in the United States.
What is public
When we publish your listing, the business details on it are public: business name, address, phone, website, logo and any description. Please do not send us personal details you do not want shown on a public business listing. Your contact person's name and email are not published.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser.
- Google Analytics cookies help us count visits and see which pages are used. They load only on www.bestinhood.com.
- Cloudflare may set cookies needed for security and spam protection, including on our forms.
- YouTube: some pages show videos. A video loads from youtube-nocookie.com only when you click to play it. YouTube may then set its own cookies.
We do not show ads and do not use advertising cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them. You can also install Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics.
How we protect it
- The site and forms use encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Card payments are handled by Stripe, so card numbers never reach us.
- Our order records and emails are stored with Cloudflare. Our admin area is behind a login and only our team can open it.
- Files sent to us are stored in private storage that is not open to the public.
- Only people who need it for their work can see your information.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
How long we keep it
- Orders, payments and emails are kept as business records for as long as we provide your listing, and afterwards as records of what was sold and paid.
- Accounting records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics' retention settings.
You can ask us to delete your information at [email protected]. We will delete what we can. We may need to keep records that the law requires for accounting and tax, such as payment records.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong
- delete your information (with the accounting exception above)
- stop using your information for a purpose you object to
Depending on where you live (for example California, the UK or the European Union), you may have further rights under your local law. To make a request, email [email protected]. We reply within one month. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Children
The site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
