Our take: A reasonable choice if you are not sure bed bugs are the only problem. Ask whether the technician who comes has handled bed bugs in rowhomes before.

How the scores work

Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated each firm. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.9 from dozens of people counts for less than the same score from hundreds. Recency shows how recently customers are still leaving reviews. No business can pay to change these numbers.

What bed bug treatment costs

Prices vary by firm. Cost moves with the size of the home, the number of rooms treated, and whether the method is heat or spray. Heat treatment needs the home prepared beforehand. Ask each firm for a written quote that spells out the number of visits and any follow-up.

Bed bug help across Philadelphia

These firms serve the Philadelphia area, with Expert Exterminating in the Girard Avenue area of North Philadelphia and Pro Heat on Tyson Avenue in the Northeast; Bed Bug Exterminator Philly lists no street address. Looking for bed bug treatment near me? Call and describe the problem. A good firm will ask about shared walls in rowhomes and neighbouring units.

What to ask before treatment

  • Will you inspect first, and will you tell me if it turns out not to be bed bugs?
  • Is the treatment heat or chemical, and what must I do to prepare?
  • How many visits are included, and is a follow-up check part of the price?
  • Do you need to treat the neighbouring rowhome or unit as well?
  • Can I have the quote in writing before you start?
