Fred's Chimney Magic is a New Hyde Park company, across the line in Nassau County, that Google files first as a fireplace store and then as a chimney sweep. Our take: A strong choice when the problem is firebox masonry or a repair that touches the flue. For gas logs, doors or a new unit, a showroom-based name below is a closer fit.

How the scorecards work

The numbers come from public Google data on the date shown. Rating is the live Google average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business, compared with other Queens fireplace businesses. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume. Recency shows how recently people are still reviewing. Nobody can pay to change these figures.

Fireplace repair and installation costs in Queens

No price list is published for these businesses, so we leave figures out. Costs depend on whether you need a repair, a gas log set, new doors or a full insert, on the fireplace’s size and shape, and on whether a gas line or flue liner is involved. A written estimate that separates equipment from labor makes quotes easy to compare.

Fireplace help near you in Queens

Before you book fireplace work

  • Do you work on this fuel type (wood, gas or both) and this fireplace brand?
  • Will replacement parts come from the manufacturer?
  • Does the quote separate equipment from labor?
  • If a gas line or flue liner is needed, is that in the estimate?
  • Can you measure for doors or an insert before I buy?
