Behind the scorecards

The scorecards use public Google data on the date shown. Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business, ranked against other San Antonio fireplace companies. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.9 from hundreds of people carries more weight than a 5.0 from a few dozen. Recency reflects how recently customers are still leaving reviews.

What drives fireplace service costs in San Antonio

We couldn’t source reliable San Antonio price ranges, so this page quotes none. Price depends on whether the fireplace is wood or gas, what is broken, how much masonry or metal work is involved, and whether you’re buying new equipment such as logs, an insert or a door. Reviewers on this page also warn that a phone quote can change after an inspection, so ask what the quote covers.

Fireplace help across San Antonio

These companies list addresses in Castle Hills, on Eckhert Rd, Stone Oak Pkwy, Presidio Pkwy and W Rhapsody Dr in San Antonio. Each card shows a phone number and directions. Looking for a fireplace company near me? Call the closest listing and ask whether it works on your fuel type, gas or wood.

Questions worth asking before a fireplace visit

Do you work on gas fireplaces, wood-burning ones, or both?
Is the price you quote the total, or can it change after an inspection?
Who do I call if something needs a follow-up visit after the work?
Can you install gas logs, an insert or a new door, and who supplies the parts?
Will you protect the floor and clean up around the fireplace?

Frequently asked questions

Who in San Antonio installs gas logs?

A1 Chimney has a reviewer describing a new gas log system installed on time. Cozy Fireplace & Patio lists gas logs and fireplace inserts among the products it sells and installs. Ask each for a written quote that covers the logs, the burner and the installation.

Is a chimney sweep the same as a fireplace repair company?

Not always. Go Chimney Sweep San Antonio and The Texan Chimney Sweep both list repair work on their sites, and Go’s reviews describe a firebox repaint and a door fix. AAA Home Services lists chimney and dryer vent cleaning, but its reviews don’t describe fireplace repairs.

Where can I look at fireplaces in person?

Cozy Fireplace & Patio runs a showroom on W Rhapsody Dr with fireplaces, inserts, gas logs and electric fireplaces. Google lists hours of 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday and 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday.

How do I avoid a surprise on a fireplace service bill?

Reviewers of more than one company on this page describe a price that changed after an inspection or cleaning. Ask for the total in writing, ask what could add to it, and ask what is included in any deep cleaning before you agree.

The short version

A1 Chimney is the safest first call for a gas log install or a repair on the strength of its review base. Go Chimney Sweep San Antonio holds the only 5.0 and has fireplace-specific reviews, and Cozy Fireplace & Patio is the place to shop for something new. Whoever you pick, get the full price in writing first.
