How the scorecards work

Every number on this page comes from public Google data on the date shown, not from opinion or payment. Rating is the business’s live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated it, set against other Denver tree companies. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.8 from hundreds of people carries more weight than a 4.9 from a few dozen. Recency reflects how recently customers are still leaving reviews. No business can pay to change these numbers.

What drives tree service pricing in Denver

Prices vary too much by tree to print a table here. Tree height, how close it stands to a house or power lines, access for equipment, how much wood needs hauling and whether you want the stump ground all move the quote. Emergency and storm calls usually cost more than a scheduled visit, so ask each company for a written estimate that lists every tree and every extra.

Where these tree crews work

Environmental Tree Care and DLC list Denver addresses, and Splintered Forest lists an Englewood suite. Monster Tree Service of North Metro Denver and AAA Emergency Tree Service have no street address listed. AAA’s site names Northglenn, Westminster, Lakewood, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Arvada and Aurora. Searching for a tree service near me in Denver? Each listing shows a live phone number and directions.

What to ask before a crew touches your tree

  • Does an arborist come out for the estimate, and are they certified?
  • Can you send proof of insurance without my asking?
  • Is stump grinding and full cleanup included, or priced separately?
  • Does this removal need a city permit, and will you help with the paperwork?
  • How do you protect the roof, fence and yard while the crew works?

Frequently asked questions

Which of these Denver tree services respond to emergencies?

AAA Emergency Tree Service is the one built around it: its site lists emergency tree service, and reviewers mention arrivals on a Saturday and a Sunday. A Monster Tree Service reviewer also had snow-damaged maple and ash limbs trimmed by a crew that responded promptly.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Denver?

It depends on the tree and where it stands. One DLC customer said getting permits to remove two silver maples was difficult until the company’s arborist wrote a letter to the city forestry office. Ask the company whether your tree needs a permit before you book.

Which of these companies mention certified arborists?

The sites of Environmental Tree Care and DLC both mention ISA-certified arborists. Splintered Forest’s Google profile carries an arborist service category, and a Monster Tree Service reviewer said the company employs an arborist.

Can the same company grind the stump or plant a replacement?

Reviewers of Environmental Tree Care describe stump grinding and tree planting, and DLC’s site lists stump grinding and tree planting among its services.

Choosing a tree crew

Monster Tree Service of North Metro Denver is the safe default on volume and consistent praise for cleanup, while AAA Emergency Tree Service is the one to call when a tree can’t wait. For permits or yearly tree care, DLC and Environmental Tree Care both bring arborists to the estimate. Get the scope and cleanup in writing before the saws start.
