Our take: The biggest name on the page and a reasonable call when moisture and mold come together. Ask what mold testing and containment look like before agreeing to the scope.

Our take: A well-established branch with a long list of services. Treat the mold line as something to confirm, since the reviews don't speak to it.

Reading the scorecard

Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business, compared with other Philadelphia restoration and mold companies. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.9 from hundreds of customers counts for more than a 5.0 from a few dozen. Recency reflects how recently people still leave reviews. No business can pay to change these numbers.

What mold removal costs

None of these businesses publishes a mold removal price, so ask for a written quote. Cost follows the size of the affected area, how many rooms or crawl spaces are involved, whether testing comes first, and whether walls have to be opened and rebuilt. Ask for the inspection, removal and any rebuild to be priced separately.

Serving Philadelphia and the suburbs

Mold Solutions & Inspections is based in Folcroft and lists service across Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester and Bucks Counties on its site; one of its reviewers is in Point Breeze and another in West Chester. DryDocs serves Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey. For mold removal near me, each listing shows a phone number.

Questions to ask before mold work begins

  • Will the mold be tested before and after removal, and who does the testing?
  • How will the work area be sealed off from the rest of the house?
  • What is causing the moisture, and does your scope fix it or only the mold?
  • Is the price for inspection, removal and any rebuild quoted separately?
  • Will you work with my insurance company, and what do you need from me?

Frequently asked questions
