How the scorecards work

Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business, compared with other San Diego businesses in this trade. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.7 from hundreds of people carries more weight than a 5.0 from a handful. Recency reflects how recently customers are still leaving reviews.

What drives kitchen countertop prices in San Diego

No prices are published here. The stone you pick (quartz, granite, quartzite or marble), the square footage, the edge profile, cutouts for sinks and cooktops, and whether the old tops must be removed all move the total. A fabricator’s quote should name the slab, the layout and what is included in the install.

Where these countertop installers are based

Prefab Granite Depot, Granite Factory Direct and Best Cheer Stone & Cabinets list San Diego addresses, and one reviewer places Granite Factory Direct in Miramar. Marjan Stone is based in Spring Valley and says on its site that it serves San Diego County. Looking for kitchen countertops near me? Each listing shows a phone number and directions.

Questions to ask before you order a countertop

  • Who measures and templates, and is that done after the cabinets are in?
  • Does the quote include fabrication, installation, edge work and sink or cooktop cutouts?
  • What happens if a slab cracks during fabrication?
  • Who do I call if something needs adjusting after the install?
  • Can I tag my slab in the yard before it is cut?
