How the scorecard works

Rating is each company’s live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated it. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.8 from hundreds of people carries more weight than a 5.0 from a handful. Recency shows how lately customers are still leaving reviews.

What drives chimney sweep pricing in St. Louis

No prices are published here. Chimney work varies widely: a routine sweep is a different job from an inspection, and both differ from a liner install or a rebuild. Price moves with the type of flue, how hard the chimney is to reach, the roof access and whether repairs are needed once the chimney is opened up.

Where these chimney pros work

English Sweep is based in Valley Park, premium chimney has an office in the St. Louis area on Cityplace Drive, and STL Chimney lists no street address and says it covers Missouri and Illinois. Searching for a chimney sweep near me? Each listing below shows a phone number and a map link, so ask about your address before you book.

Questions to ask before you book a sweep

  • Does the visit include a camera or visual inspection, or only a sweep?
  • Will you send inspection or insurance paperwork by email, and how fast?
  • Do you protect the floors and furniture, and do you use a vacuum system?
  • If you find damage, do you quote repairs in writing before starting?
  • Do you work on gas fireplaces and inserts as well as wood-burning ones?

Which chimney sweep in St. Louis has the most Google reviews?

English Sweep has the most on this page, with more than 640 reviews at 4.9 stars. STL Chimney follows with more than 420 at 4.8, and premium chimney holds more than 410 at a perfect 5.0.

Can I get a chimney inspection before buying a home in St. Louis?

Do St. Louis chimney companies also repair chimneys, not just sweep them?

Yes. premium chimney’s website lists chimney repair, liner installation and inspection, and STL Chimney lists repairs and maintenance up to full renovations. Reviews for premium chimney describe a damaged cap and liner and a vent fix for a water heater.

Picking your chimney company

For a routine sweep or inspection, English Sweep has the largest review base here. If you already know something is damaged, premium chimney’s repair-heavy reviews and 5.0 rating are worth a call, and STL Chimney covers gas fireplaces too. Whichever you choose, ask for the findings in writing.
