What the scorecard measures

Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.9 from more than a hundred people carries more weight than a 5.0 from a handful. Recency reflects how recently customers still leave reviews.

What shapes a deck quote in Columbia?

No prices are published here. Deck quotes usually depend on size, whether the deck is wood or composite, railings, roofs or screens, and whether permits are needed. One Archadeck reviewer replaced a wooden deck with a composite one, and a Payload reviewer says the crew handled permits. Ask for an itemized estimate.

Where these builders work

Dennis Home Improvement is on N Beltline Blvd and Palmetto Outdoor is on Lady St in Columbia. CDMS says on its website that it serves Columbia and surrounding areas. Archadeck of Central South Carolina and Payload Construction list no street address on Google. Searching for a deck builder near me? Each listing shows a phone number so you can confirm they cover your address.

What to ask before you hire a deck builder

  • Will you give me an itemized estimate that names the decking, railings and framing?
  • Do you pull the permits, and who pays for them?
  • Wood or composite: what are the trade-offs for my budget?
  • What is the timeline, and how many days will the crew be on site?
  • How do you handle changes after the work starts?

Frequently asked questions

Several do. Dennis Home Improvement lists screened porches on its website, CDMS lists screened porches and pergolas, Payload Construction says it builds screen porches, and Archadeck of Central South Carolina has reviewers describing a screened porch and a sun room.

Who handles deck repair and restaining in Columbia?

Palmetto Outdoor has a reviewer who had warped boards replaced and the deck sanded and stained, and a CDMS reviewer had a deck reinforced for a hot tub. Ask whether a repair job is something they take on.

Is composite decking an option with these Columbia builders?

An Archadeck of Central South Carolina reviewer replaced a wooden deck with a composite deck, and CDMS says it is a Deckorators registered pro. Ask any builder for material samples and an itemized estimate.
