We compared 19 bathroom remodeling services in San Diego on Google Maps · 5 listed · How we rank
A bathroom is the one room you can't skip using while it's torn apart, so how long the job takes matters as much as how it looks. Bathroom remodeling services in San Diego split into tub-and-shower specialists and full design-build firms, and the businesses below hold more than 1,000 Google reviews between them, all rated 4.8 or higher. The review base is lopsided: one name carries more than 770, while the rest run from more than 50 to more than 80.
Short answer: Shugarman's Bath has the largest review base for bathroom remodeling in San Diego, at 4.9 stars from more than 770 Google reviews, but it only converts tubs and showers. For a full-room remodel with design help, Optimal Home Remodeling & Design (4.9) has the larger review base among the full-remodel firms, while Golden shore design and build and Finest City Remodeling both hold 5.0 on smaller ones. Rating is the live Google star average. Review volume is how many customers have rated the business, set against the others on this page. Confidence weighs the rating by that volume, so a 4.9 from hundreds of people carries more than a 5.0 from a few dozen. Recency reflects how lately customers have been leaving reviews.
What drives bathroom remodel pricing in San Diego
No prices are published here. Cost depends mostly on scope: swapping a tub for a shower is a different job from gutting a room and moving fixtures. Tile and glass choices, plumbing changes, permits and any damage found behind the walls all move the number, so a written, itemized quote is the only reliable figure.
Where these bathroom remodelers work
The addresses above sit across San Diego, on Morena Blvd, Miramar Rd, Mission Center Rd, 42nd St and Lebon Dr. Shugarman’s Bath says it also serves Orange County, and San Diego Custom Remodeling describes its work as covering San Diego County. Questions to ask a bathroom remodeler

- Is the quote fixed in writing, and what happens if you find damage behind the walls?
- Who pulls permits and arranges the city inspections?
- How many days will the bathroom be out of use?
- Who installs the shower glass, and is that in your price?
